English Drama Group Trier
Frequently Asked Questions for Those Who Want to Come See Us

Where do you perform?

Since WS07/08 we have been fortunate enough to perform on stage in a real theater regulary. The TuFa Trier has been our home for rehearsals and performances ever since and we enjoy this connection very much.

Where can I get tickets for your performances?

You can get a ticket is by either buying one at one of our ticket sales at University (from the two weeks preceeding opening night onwards, check the main page when the time comes around) or by calling our directors. We do not sell tickets online.

I want to reserve a ticket - where do I do that?

We generally don't let people reserve tickets without paying for them. Why is that? Because a ticket reserved and not paid for can no longer be sold. This leads to us telling people that there are no more tickets left, and then we play in front of a half-filled audience. We have made bad experiences in the past, so don't be disappointed when we tell you that tickets can generally only be bought.

If you can't make it to any of our ticket sales at University, call our directors.

I was unable to get a ticket, and now you are completely sold out. What can I do?

First of all - sorry about that. These things happen sometimes. You have the possibility of coming to the Tufa on performance night well in advance (perhaps half an hour to 45 minutes beforehand). Once we erect our "Abendkasse", we can put you on a waiting list. If tickets get returned or people do not show up, for whatever reason, we redistribute the empty seats according to the waiting list. While it happens sometimes that tickets get returned, this is by no means a promise.

Where does the money go?

We don't do this for profit, so all the money we make goes into funding our productions, especially props, sets, costumes, the works, and other Drama Group related things, such as this website.

Who are the directors?

For many years now, Elke and Christoph Nonn have been our trusted and beloved directors. They have led the Drama Group to where we are now and they still invest heart and soul in this hobby despite having their own full time jobs and two adorable children to deal with.

How long do you work on one production?

We put on one play per semester and have done so for a number of years. And yes, that's quite a lot.

Where do you get your sets and costumes?

We often build every set and many props from scratch. We also have a small storeroom with stuff that has been piled up from previous productions. Usually, all members are encouraged to help with finding props and costumes. Only sometimes we are forced to buy a costume, but that's kind of boring, isn't it?
Since we usually make our own costumes, we are, of course, perfectly suited for costume design studies for FH students. If you are studying costume design and are interested in doing something for us, just contact us!

I want to contact you - should I write in English or German?

Take your pick. There is no one in the drama group not perfectly capable of understanding English and German. Anything you might want to tell us or ask us can be in either English or German.
